Dr. Neil F. Gibson

For almost 20 years now I have had the privilege of working as a therapist, in various settings, with young people and adults from many different cultures and backgrounds. I have a special interest in working with traumatic experiences, which can take many forms.

Much of my work over the years has been providing long-term psychotherapy in private practice in Newcastle, and short-term therapy within universities. I have also enjoyed running psychotherapy groups in the North East and London.

As an academic and lecturer, I have a great passion for teaching and supervising trainee psychotherapists at the New School of Psychotherapy & Counselling, London where I am the Clinical Coordinator and course lead for the Existential Psychotherapy Training programme.

As an accredited psychotherapist I am a registered clinical member of UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), clinical member of SEA (Society for Existential Analysis), and member of EMDR UK & Ireland. I am bound by the ethical framework and regulations of these bodies.
